This course guide covers various aspects which include an overview and definition of curriculum, characteristics of curriculum and its function in education. Various models of curriculum planning will be examined and you will review the strengths and weaknesses of each model. This course will also present an overview of education in Malaysia and the formation of the national education curriculum. This course will provide you with opportunities to explore and discover various theories, models of curriculum planning, types and role of assessment and how to utilise them in your teaching and learning practice in classrooms.
