Description
This course guide provides an overview of small business by discussing its definitions, forms of small business, the advantages and disadvantages as well as the development in the context of Malaysian and ASEAN environment. Unit 2 addresses the issues of small business start-up process in terms of start-up ideas, opportunity analysis, and start-up strategies. Management of franchise business and small family firm is also discussed. Unit 3 highlights the know-how on developing the new venture business plan with further explanation on marketing plan, legal form of business organisation, financial projection, and sources of financing. Unit 4 focuses on the customer and marketing growth strategies in the areas of customer relationship, product management, supply chain management, pricing, promotion planning, and global marketing. The last unit provides the managerial perspective of growing small business by discussing the use of management tools such as leadership, human resource, operations management, assets, and risk management.
