This bibliography is a preliminary version. The compilers intend to revise the categorization of entries and update the bibliographic listing in time to come.
The bibliography presents selected texts on Open Educational Resources (OER) from 1989 through April 2014. Since the compilation was done in conjunction with the 2nd Regional Symposium on Open Educational Resources: Beyond Advocacy, Research and Policy held on 24th-27th June 2014 at Wawasan Open University Main Campus, Penang, Malaysia, the scope is limited to themes of the symposium; content, collaboration, innovation, impact and quality. It is also part of an ongoing OER project being carried out at Wawasan Open University to encourage the development and adaptation of OER among the academicians of the University. OER are defined as “teaching, learning, and research resources that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits their free use or re-purposing by others. OER include full courses, course materials, modules, textbooks, streaming videos, tests, software, and any other tools, materials, or techniques used to support access to knowledge,” (Atkins, Brown and Hammond, 2007, p4).
A list of useful OER Resources has been added as well to assist readers in locating OER Websites. Author and publication date’s indexes with links to the actual articles are provided to help readers discover the materials. As this bibliography was generated using Mendeley, an open source reference manager and academic social network, a copy of the bibliography has been made available on its website http://www.mendeley.com as well. You can visit the website and do keyword searches on the bibliography.
