It highlights the reasons for the need for an OER based course material and stages of the OER-based course development. To identify relevant OER for reuse, a number of reputable and peer-reviewed OER repositories should be identified after discussion among Course Development Team. Search mechanisms to locate relevant OER material are suggested. D-index and OERScout were proposed to solve the problem of effectively trawling and locating OER for teaching and learning needs.
